Filter Statistics: 0.9.9.29 hängt ab

Beitragvon Clinamen » 29. Jun 2007, 16:04

Hi,

I have not upgraded to .29, so I will do it this weekend and then see if I get any errors. I have not looked at a .dmp file before, so I don't know what to use to open it. :-)

Michel, what do you use to open and read .dmp files?

Thanks,

Bob

Hallo Bob Loeffler!

I think "Visual Studio 2005 Express"

I also have a little tool here, which I could use it with the .dmp's. I will send you a file ... please wait ...!

Hi Clinamen,

I upgraded to .29 and didn't see any errors when I viewed any of the filter statistics. If you can tell me exactly what you did (step-by-step), maybe I can reproduce the problem and fix it. Which version of Windows are you using?

I have a new version of the Filter Statistics plugin that I have just uploaded to the Spami website. Maybe you can try it and see if you get the same problem.

Anbuva, thanks for sending the Debug Diagnostic Tool to me. Unfortunately when I open Clinamen's .dmp file from 29.6.2007, it tells me that it "failed to locate the PEB (Process Environment Block)" so the data will be incomplete. Not much data is shown. :-(

Regards,

Bob

An upgrade to Filter Statistics version 1.1.2 leads now in my environment (Spami version 0.9.9.29, WinXP) to a dump, no matter on which button I click in the Filter Statistics window. I sent the dump to you, Bob. http://www.spamihilator.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=39042#39042

Bob Loeffler hat geschrieben:Michel, what do you use to open and read .dmp files?

Nothing. The error occurs at 0x333d7465 :-) Visual C++ is not able to show the coresponding code line!

@Bob: Chactory said that Spamihilator is now less error-tolerant, which is right in a certain manner. I updated to Visual C++ 2005 some time ago. Since this version it is recommended to use the new "safe" runtime functions like sprintf_s() or strcpy_s(). These functions throw an exception if there is a buffer overflow. This is very good, because I could track down some bugs because of this new behaviour. Unfortunately it has nothing to do with your plugin :-?

@Dieter: Could you please send me your filter.log and all other log files and setting files of the Filter Statistics plugin via e-mail? Thanks!

Sincerely,
Michel

Hi all,

Thanks to Dieter and Michel, I have fixed the Filter Statistics plugin and posted it to the Plugins/Add-Ons site.

Dieter, please try the new plugin version and see if it fixes your problem. The plugin will be a little slower and the file size is larger, but at least it will be "safer". :-)

If anyone wants to translate some text from English into German, please let me know.

Thanks,

Bob

I just installed the new version and tested it. Everything seems to work all right now. Many thanks! :D

I observed almost no difference.
