Filter Statistics - Account Treatment

Beitragvon Dieter » 16. Apr 2007, 13:16

Hi Bob,

I have a suggestion for the spam/non-spam - list in your filter statistics.

I have an account where - I believe it  - I never get spam. But there is an email-address which does not have an own account, but all the mails sent to it are passed to the account mentioned above. With this email-address I'm getting a lot of spam and of course in your statistics all the spam mails are listed with that account. I don't like it. :(

Is it possible to introduce an option in your filter statistics where I can specify an email-address which should be listed instead of the account where the mails are passed comming with this address? This would help me to recognize if I get spam with the original address belonging to my account.

I hope you understand my request! 8)

Regards,
Dieter

Hi Dieter,

I'm not sure I understand your request. Can you give me an example with fake e-mail addresses?

Thanks,

Bob

Hi Bob,

my account related to this request is 8)@pop.1und1.de, the email-address joined to this account is 8)@domain1.net. There is a second email-address 8)@domain2.de which does not have any account, all incomming emails for this address are automatically passed to the address 8)@domain1.net, but the sender does not know this fact.

In the filter.log exist entries without spam like
8) @ pop.1und1.de (08.04.2007 - 11:10:46)

or with spam (in this case a false-positive  )
8) @ pop.1und1.de (13.04.2007 - 18:18:36)
"0MKqpg-1HcOK31MV1-00059n" ("Gelesen=3A_Gute_Reise", "=22 MyName=22_=3C 8)=40domain1=2Enet=3E", "=3D=3Fiso-8859-1=3FQ=3FErnst=5Fund=5FMarianne=5FSenderName=3F=3D_=3CSender=40Address=2Ech=3E", "2007-04-13", "18:08:27", 2092, -1, "DCC Filter", "1320 Benutzer haben diese Mail empfangen", 1.00)

But if comming with the 2nd address an entry looks like this one
8) @ pop.1und1.de (08.04.2007 - 10:58:32)
"0MKqIe-1HaNlb3xD1-0000EX" ("be_appealing", " 8)=40domain2=2Ede", "=22Stevie_Q=2E_Joyce=22_=3Cyoessay=40soniclink=2Enet=3E", "2007-04-08", "05:08:36", 22015, -1, "Server Tester", "", 0.00)

It would be fine if there is an option indicating the email-address 8)@domain2.de which says: all the entries with this address should be counted separately. I hope this clarifies my request.

Regards,
Dieter

Remark: I do not know whether a non-spam-email comming with the 2nd address is listed in the filter.log. I did not find such an entry. :? But this would not be bad. I am only interested to know which of the both addresses are passing emails with spam.

Hi Dieter,

Thank you for the explanation. I understand it now, but I don't know if that would be easy to do. I will put it on the filter's "wish list".

Regards,

Bob

Hi Bob,

of course, it won't be easy. But I'm sure you are able to do that.
