I've recently started to experience a problem where both the sender and the subject box is empty when I look in the Training area.

This happens even when the message is from a known source and the subject and sender is visible in other programs

Any Ideas?

Hi!

Could you provide to us a screen-shot to illustrate your findings?
(I haven’t understood what you meant with „sender and subject box“.)

Kind regards,
Chactory

Hi!

For the purpose of understanding a remote problem, we do like screenshots over here. I know, it does need much storing space, especially in very highly frequented forums.

For unregistered users, the forum software doesn’t allow posting hyperlinks, luckily.

Now, this posting your screenshot worked twice.

For me, it seems like a corrupted installation − assumed that it occurrs with all mails shown in the training area. But first I’d like to analyze the header of those mails.

Kind regards,
Chactory

And: I think we should receive a little bit more informations about your settings ...
Windows version? Spamihilator version? Way of installation? Repair actions? ...

I have tried uninstalling, removing all references to Spamihilator from hard drive and registry and installed both 32 and 64 bit versions.

Never had a problem when using XP but about a month ago I upgraded PC and installed Windows 7, Spamihilator worked fine for the first few weeks and then this started to happen.

I'm wondering if its a Windows update as nothing else has changed

PS It is not all mails, the screenshot is not a good example as some mails do show Sender/Subject others not although I can't discern a pattern

Hi!

For a clean uninstallation of Spamihilator, it seems a good idea to remove all "spamihilator"-directories.
Did I misunderstand you, or did you really install both 64 and 32 versions at once?
Is it a Windows 7 machine with 64 bits? This works fine with Spamihilator 1.5.0 on my computer.
Still need more information ...

Kind regards,
Chactory

Not both at the same time, I first noticed the problem with the 64bit version, removed all traces I could find of that and then tried installing the 32bit but had the same problem

Hi!

I think that under common circumstances, Spamihilator would not show such phenomena. To find out the reasons for that, it would be of high interest for me to obtain detailed informations. Please work out more clear informations, for I can't look into your computer from here ...

I have received two more mails with blank sender/subject, it also shows as blank if I try to Add to Friends/Blacklist.

On viewing the message I have noticed the following at the start of the mails that don't appear on others...

X-CTCH-RefID: str=0001.0A090209.521E95A4.0115,ss=1,re=0.000,recu=0.000,reip=0.000,cl=1,cld=1,fgs=0
X-CTCH-VOD: Unknown
X-CTCH-Spam: Unknown

and

X-CTCH-RefID: str=0001.0A090202.521E8216.0105:SCFSTAT21871995,ss=1,re=-4.000,recu=0.000,reip=0.000,cl=1,cld=1,fgs=0
X-CTCH-VOD: Unknown
X-CTCH-Spam: Unknown

The only thing I can find relating to X-CTCH is a spam company called Ipswitch. Not sure how this is getting on my mail. My provider is BT

Hi!

Now I'm beginning to brood. It seems to me, as if there was no fault with Spamihilator, but a damaged e-mail. Perhaps somebody over there with the spammers, who is experimenting with his spam-mails building kit. I guess that the X-CTCH mark is an automatically generated note from a server passed by. Perhaps your provider uses Ipswitch technology?

Kind regards,
Chactory

Not sure how or why its being added as it appears on some definately non spam mails, even some I send to myself.

Once the mail is through Outlook doesn't show this additional info and displays the subject and sender correctly, MailWasher also shows the subject and sender correctly
