Spam gets forwarded to Mailclient, but no trace in Spami

Beitragvon TronixA » 11. Feb 2010, 15:21

I have found signs in the log that point to defective plugin handling by the program. At the time this log entry was made, the imagefilter.dll file was disabled in Spamihilator..
Code: Alles auswählen
("No_Contract=2C_Cellular_Phone_Plan_Starting_as_Low_as_=2410_Per_Month!", "XXXX=40hotmail=2Ecom", "ConsumerCellular_=3CConsumerCellular=40jenniessass=2Ecom=3E", "2010-01-12", "17:02:15", 3825, -1, "Image Filter", "(null)", 0.00)

I replaced the email address with Xs to keep my email address private. Notice how the image filter is invoked yet causes a null-type status code. The email was sent straight into my email client with no trace of the email in the spami client.

Hallo TronixA!

EDIT: I made a couple of wrong assumptions and overread that you had the Image Filter disabled, so i had to edit my post and delete a big section, because it didn't make any sense, sorry!

We just had another person in the german section of this board reporting an almost identical problem with the Image Filter.
http://www.spamihilator.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8202
In that case the user claims the Mail got classified as Spam by the Image Filter and got sent to the Spami recycle bin with NO copy in the training area either. In his case the Image Filter was enabled, though.

I think we have to wait for a comment from Michel who is the developer of Spami and the Image Filter.

Regards,
Quellcore

btw: Good job with tracing down your problem through the filter.log

Thanks Quellcore!

This has long been an issue for me for quite awhile. I was determined to figure out what the problem was since I knew that it wasn't an issue with me adding these addresses to my friends list or newsgroup list. Hopefully we found the cause of the source of these issues...

Hallo TronixA!
Just a couple more thoughts:

It's virtually impossible that the Image Filter takes part in the filter process when it is disabled.
Therefor i can't really believe it was disabled during the classification of that mail.
There was a bug regarding the date in 0.9.9.52 so maybe the date (01/12/2010 before the release of 0.9.9.53)) in the log is not correct. Did you have it enabled before or after, do you remember when?
Code: Alles auswählen
("No_Contract=2C_Cellular_Phone_Plan_Starting_as_Low_as_=2410_Per_Month!", "XXXX=40hotmail=2Ecom", "ConsumerCellular_=3CConsumerCellular=40jenniessass=2Ecom=3E", "2010-01-12", "17:02:15", 3825, -1, "Image Filter", "(null)", 0.00)

I'm not using the Image Filter myself, but i'm sure it can only detect Spam, the value -1 in your filter.log means that it classified the mail as Spam.
There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with this log entry, everything seems to be alright.

Did you change the standard behavior of the Image Filter by any chance, maybe even by accident :?:
I'm talking about the option "When the filter finds a Spam Mail ..."

Do you still have the filter disabled :?:
If you are using it what is the priority of the filter :?:
Are you using the 32-Bit or 64-Bit version of Spami :?:
Whats your OS, 32-Bit, 64-Bit, XP, Vista, 7 :?:

Actually it was disabled at the time the scan was run. I haven't messed with the settings at all. Apparently it was marked as a spam but there was no trace of the message in the recycle bin nor was it held by Spami. It was passed directly to the email client. I'm running the 32-bit version of Spami on Windows 7 64-bit.

I was wondering what happened to my posts. I thought that my issue was related to the stated error in the subject line. Oh well...
