Learn button not always functional

Beitragvon delorg » 3. Feb 2010, 18:06

Hello,
I receive regular mails from services with subscription (e.g. Google Alerts). Each time, these mails are pre-marked as spam. I go to the training area, set the flag to No-spam and click on Learn.
However, these mails from the same sender, the next day, are again marked as Spam.

One example is Google Alerts, Filter name: image filter, Probability 100%.

Could you please help me?

Best regards
delorg

Hello delorg!

The Image-Filter is operating before the Learning Filter in the filter sequence. That why it alerts every time again. Unfortunately, those mails do contain an image which is loaded from a server - like spam-mails do it commonly. If you judge those mails non-spam, you better deactivate the Image-Filter in the Spamihilator settings.

Hi Chactory!

thanks for your answer.
Do I understand it right that the Learn Button is not functional at all when the Image filter is on?

Hello delorg!

Hmm, I'd rather explain it a little bit different ... I think that the Learning Filter does learn very well from your marking mails as spam or as non-spam. But the Learning Filter will not get around to judge any mail with an image, because the Image Filter already processed them and sorted them aout.

Hi Chactory!

I understand. Isn't just a question of priority order?
What if the Learning Filter would be sorting first, and then the Image filter?
Is that feasible?

Hallo delorg!

Now you got it! :)

But my opinion is to do without the fault-prone Image-Filter.

The Learning Filter should keep it's position as a decider at the last place.
