What's happening while spami is starting?

Beitragvon Ponder » 5. Okt 2009, 20:08

Hello.

When we re-boot, the Spami envelope is visible in the system tray in white with no red "X". Then after a while, sometimes a minute or more, the envelope turns yellow with the red "X".

What is Spami doing during the time the envelope is white? And can this time be shortened?

Thanks for such a great program.....Ponder

Hallo Ponder!

Thank you for your interesting question. My knowledge is too small to give you a sufficient answer. I fancy that Spamihilator initializes itself and checks the DCC-Filter servers. So perhaps you could test it by deactivating DCC? For me, this doesn't last a perceptible time.

Gruß, Chactory

Hello Chactory.

I deactivated DCC, but nothing changed for the timing of Spami being loaded. Could Spami be reviewing emails, or reviewing Recycle bin??

Hello Ponder!

Long Time no see!

If it really takes that long with your config i would assume you are using the URL-Filter :?:
if you do consider to stop using the URL-Filter, Michel's new Link-fIlter (included in the newer Spami-Versions >=0.9.9.42) should do the trick, too.

Hi Quellcore....

How are you..? I have not had to post very much here as
Spami has given me over 99% filter efficiency...This of course is a result of this fine program, great add-ons and soooo much good help at this forum....

You are correct.....I disabled the URL filter and yes, Spami started without ANY delay whatsoever......but the URL filter was working pretty well on a fair number of mails, so I will activate the Link Filter in place of the URL filter.

Thanks and nice to hear from you again....Ponder
